The Turbine Room can be hired all day and therefore access from 8am is available. Please note that this space does have its own separate entrance but the toilet facilities are shared with the main visitor centre.

The remaining event spaces; Boiler Room, Triple Engine Room & Mezzanine will all be open to the public during the day and access is available from closing time which is 4pm Oct-Mar and 5pm Apr-Sep. Please note this access is for set up only as the events team will require at least an hour after closing to turn the space around.

There is an option of closing the visitor centre 1 hour early for an additional fee, please speak to your coordinator about this option.

4

catering

We work with a fantastic team of hospitality experts, The World’s Larder - our catering partner who offer a sumptuous range of menu styles to suit all budgets.

Due to the unique site logistics we do not allow external caterers, but please do speak to your coordinator if you require specialised food menus such as kosher and halal.

5

access & tours

The conservation and industrial value of Walthamstow Wetlands is truly unique in London and the regeneration of the site now allows more people access to its natural and architectural heritage. We welcome you and your guests to enjoy a walk through the 211 hectares of expansive landscape including ten beautiful reservoirs. We can also organise nature tours and trails for smaller groups. Once the evening festivities commence, access to the wetlands will be restricted but guests can still enjoy breathtaking views over the southern reservoirs and the city’s skyline from the mezzanine balcony.

6

audio visual & entertainment

You are welcome to provide your AV, DJ or band for your event, but we kindly ask they would complete a site recce prior to the event to ensure they have all the correct equipment & electrical access required as we can only provide the standard 13 amp plug sockets. (Please note there are some sound restrictions to ensure our wildlife and local residents are not disturbed).

We have a 65" interactive display plasma screen that can be hired for presentations & picture slideshows, please ask for prices & availability.

There are no built-in speaker systems in any of the Engine House rooms, so you will need to speak to your AV provider if you require this facility.

7

security & parking

Security is required for all evening events to ensure the safety of guests & wildlife throughout the event. This is charged at £100+vat per security member; 1 per 50 guests (minimum 3).
